Creator Spotlight: Engineered Coffee

Welcome to our Creator spotlight!

Continuing our series of Space Engineers Creator Spotlights with Engineered Coffee.

“My journey in Space Engineers started back in the alpha days, when my play was purely for relaxation—basically just building Lego in space. As a mechanical engineer in real life, I had the technical background, but I never went hardcore into in-game automation until new blocks were introduced, specifically the Event Controllers and Action Relays, along with the set-and-move and rotate-to-angle commands. This pivot point in the game’s development perfectly coincided with my real-life job, where I was teaching myself PLC programming and industrial automation. This overlap sparked a strong creative drive, transforming the game into a true engineering sandbox.

Martian Engineering is basically a playground for me to see how much automation can be done using vanilla controls, completely avoiding scripts. I also wanted to create a world that seems somewhat grounded, like it could realistically be built in the near future. My designs are directly inspired by real-life mechanisms; the Clangscavator, warehouse bridge crane, monorail, and scissor lifts are all clear examples. For the architecture of the series, I wanted the buildings to look like they actually carry weight; structural supports, beams, and foundations all tie into the realism for me.

When I first started my series, I honestly expected only a few people to be interested in such a niche topic. But, I have been so surprised by the reception and the high level of engagement from the community! Space Engineers has an awesome community, and their interest and feedback is truly what fuels me (along with copious amounts of coffee) to continue making content and taking on new, challenging projects that further test the engineering possibilities within the game. I can’t wait to see what new automation challenges we get to tackle in SE2!”

Martian Engineering Series

In this survival let’s play, we take on Mars with the Assertive Combat PVE mod along with various quality of life mods. I don’t use block mods or scripts (except Tank Tracks over Vanilla Wheels), so the builds and controls remain vanilla.

Logic & Logistics! Epic SCADA System & Hook Lift HEMTT

In this episode we get a start on the control room analog SCADA display using vanilla event controllers, lights, and buttons. We then pivot to making an awesome 8×8 HEMTT with a hook lift for hauling the shipping containers for the future components warehouse.

A Bridge Crane Too Far! Starting the Vanilla Klang Crane

In this episode we make some small improvements to the HEMTT and then get a great start on the component storage warehouse with a beautiful bridge crane. And I finally build a welding ship.

Clangscavator EX-1

The Klangscavator is a mining excavator as seen on my Martian Engineering (link) YT survival series. The workshop model is slightly modified to remove the pot hole inducing interior pillars and replaced with small wheels. It does use the Tank Tracks over Vanilla wheels mod, see required items.

Engineered Coffee (the Mod)

Through a mutually beneficial hostile takeover, Engineered Coffee Industries has acquired the Cosmic Coffee brand! Now you can have the great taste of Cosmic Coffee crafted from your own food processor.

This little mod adds the ability to grow you very own Engineered Coffee plant in a Farm Plot, harvest it, roast it, and turn it into a few delicious recipes in the Food Processor.

You can find more of the amazing creations by Engineered Coffee here and his Youtube channel here.
