Welcome to our Creator spotlight!

Continuing our series of Space Engineers Creator Spotlights with Praetor Paktu.

“Good day, I’m Praetor Paktu. Since I was 4, I’ve loved LEGO and always wanted to build my own ships, but couldn’t. In 2018, I saw a video about this game called Space Engineers. Because I was a poor kid, all I could do was watch videos for a year until I was gifted it near the end of 2019. Over the past 6 or so years, it’s become my most-played game by a long shot. It’s been a crazy ride all the way to now, seeing the community’s zeitgeist change.

As they say, “Rome wasn’t built in a day,” and neither were my ships; some of them are on their 6th redesign/touch-ups. For example, the Acolyte class Interceptor was originally based on a silly LEGO moc of Jay’s Storm Fighter 9442 from Ningago, with Mandalorian fighter elements. and was named after the Somtaaw Acolyte. After many iterations and failed ideas, it’s now the ship you see today. Space Engineers is more of an art program to me than a game, and I love helping people.

My inspiration has always been Homeworld. from lore, ship design, and classifications. More inspiration comes from anything I think is cool. like The Expanse, Battlestar Galactica, and my friends builds. Building ships isn’t all fun and games though. I’ve suffered from burnout a lot. My suggestion to you my friend, is to temper your ambition and build smaller. While bigger ships are cool, finishing a ship feels better.

In the end, I thank SE for connecting me to my best friends in Inari. and people on the LK discord, who have helped forge my skills from a noob to a better skilled player 🙂 “

[COA] Lastimora Class: Assault Frigate

With the Fleet Modernization Program coming into full effect, the Lastimora Assault frigate was the first off the line. It is scheduled to replace all important Redemption Assault frigates in the next two years.

It is commonly used for customs inspection and patrolling, where larger/more specialised ships aren’t the best use of resources.

[COA] Acolyte MK3 Class Interceptor

The Acolyte Mk3 his equipped with more advanced hardware, software and weapons then the earlier MK2. At time of fleet wide production, it is the most advanced fighter in the solar system outmatching any fighters the ROK possesses.

[ROK] Unraveler Class Destoryer

Named after the mummified guardians of the dead found deep in the tombs of Arkiroa on the homeworld. The Unraveler Class is a marvel of engineering to the ROK, boasting a new railgun second only to COA’s dedicated railgun platforms.

However, it comes with a hefty price tag, not just for building, but also for running. If not for the support from some wealthy, sympathetic people in the COA, this project would have been dead in its tracks.

[COA] <<Cerax>> Outpost Station

Space, the final frontier. It’s a lonely and dangerous life out on these small stations. Trapped in a small area, relying on cargo ships to stay alive. It’s not for everyone, but someone gotta do it.

[COA] <<Driden>> Troop Transport

While the Driden is a planetary assault craft, they are mainly used against stations to shore up defences or quell a rebellion.

They are often escorted by defence fighters.
