Continuing our series of Space Engineers modder Spotlights with one and only avaness

We invite you to browse workshop and github collections by avaness. With so much to explore there is certain to be something for everyone.

“I started playing Space Engineers in 2018 and got hooked on making programmable block scripts shortly after. I really enjoyed how the game lets you make scripts in C# because I already had experience from Unity that I could utilize. Eventually, I learned how to make a mod with the introduction of my Racing Display mod, a mod I designed for live racing events.

In 2021, I discovered plugins and I started my most successful project, Plugin Loader. It started out simply as a remake of a tool that I liked. What I didn’t realize is that I opened Pandora’s box by making that tool so popular. Even though it has been difficult, I am very glad Plugin Loader exists because it allows Space Engineers to be extended far further than the mod API could ever allow.

I really enjoy making things that the community uses, so expect more mods (but mostly plugins) from me in the future.

Racing Display

An on screen display for tracking racers in live racing events. Includes support for looped tracks and timed race modes.

Instant Projector

A highly customizable mod that adds grid spawning abilities to the projector in survival.

Plugin Loader

A system for Space Engineers that allows players to easily install and load client plugins and client mods.

Better Inventory Search

A plugin for Plugin Loader that highlights the items you searched for in the inventory screen.

Tool Switcher

A plugin for Plugin Loader that merges the welder, grinder, and drill so that the scroll wheel can be used to switch tools.
